BRUSHLESS MOTOR, WHAT IS IT?

A brushless motor, "called a brushless motor ", is a type of electric motor that uses permanent magnets to also produce the magnetic field necessary for its operation. Unlike traditional DC motors, brushless motors do not have mechanical brushes and switches. The operation of a brushless motor relies on an electronic controller to manage power to the coils that surround the permanent magnets inside the motor. When electric current is applied to the coils sequentially, the generated magnetic field pushes the permanent magnets, which turns the motor shaft.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A BRUSHLESS MOTOR?

  1. High efficiency : they convert a greater amount of electrical energy into mechanical energy. This results in reduced energy consumption and better autonomy for devices powered by these motors.
  2. Longer lifespan : They have a longer lifespan and less maintenance. This reduces maintenance costs and extends engine durability.
  3. Low noise level: Brushless motors produce less noise than brushed motors due to the absence of brush friction against the commutator.
  4. Compact and lightweight: Brushless motors are generally more compact and lighter than brushed motors of the same power. This makes them suitable for applications where space and weight are important factors, such as drones, robots and wearable devices.
  5. Precise control: Brushless motors provide precise control of speed, torque and position thanks to their advanced electronic design. This allows for better motor regulation and faster response to commands, which is crucial in many industrial and robotic applications.
  6. Less electromagnetic interference : Brushless motors generate less electromagnetic interference than brushed motors due to the absence of sparks triggered by brush contacts.
